about

Back in 2006 I met Chris Siddall while working at a fundraising job for a non-profit arts organization. We quickly discovered we shared a love of subversive music and became fast friends. A couple months later Chris invited me to come jam with some friends of his at a house on the east side.

These jams were a weekly event, happening every Tuesday and open to anybody that wanted to come by. They would even leave the front door to the house open. I once saw some random guy stumble in off of the street. He asked if he could play drums, and I responded, "I don't know, can you?" He ended up hanging out and jamming for many hours.

These jams were chaotic, loose, loud, and exceptionally fun.

The primary occupant of the house eventually moved out, and the house was considered unsafe to inhabit and was torn down. However, the core group of people that hosted these jams now sometimes gathers on a ranch outside of Elgin, TX. A few months ago I was able to join in for an afternoon, and it was just as chaotic, loose, loud and exceptionally fun as it had always been. I'm excited to share with you all a snippet of the happenings from that afternoon, recorded in quadraphonic sound by myself and Brad Schmerbeck.

Enjoy!
